Frequently Asked Questions
The certificate awarded at the end of this program is valid for continuing education at reputable universities, especially in the United Kingdom and other international higher education institutions.
- Students who score above 70% on the standard MOC (Ministry of Education Certification) exams during the preparatory course will be eligible to enter the international education system.
- Those who successfully complete the preparatory courses and pass the final exam will receive an international certificate.
- Annual scholarships are allocated for top-performing students.
Students can prepare for the international education system through two pathways:
- Standard Pathway: The program begins with the Afghan national curriculum and gradually transitions to an international level. In addition to textbooks, students receive links to online videos (or content on flash drives for areas without internet access). They also prepare their own study materials using these and other resources. Students take an MOC test every two weeks and must submit a weekly learning report.
- Accelerated Pathway: Students who want to complete the program more quickly will take MOC exams for 52 consecutive weeks. They are also required to write a weekly report on their learning progress.
- Educational Bridge for Afghanistan (EBA), via its website (https://www.eba.ac/), is the authority that issues certificates for the preparatory courses upon completion of each program. EBA is also responsible for conducting the final examination.
- After the final results are confirmed and sent to the examination board, the international certificate is issued. The code corresponding to each certificate can be viewed and tracked on the official UK Government website (https://www.gov.uk/).
- The curriculum is designed based on international Ofqual (The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation) standards, equivalent to Ofqual Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications.
- The teaching methods and course progression are specifically tailored to the conditions and circumstances in Afghanistan.
Bi-weekly MOC exams, consisting of up to 120 questions, are administered. These can be taken at home as self-assessments. The results, along with a student's progress report, are logged in the system to build the student's academic portfolio.
However, during each semester, every student must take a final exam at one of the registered educational centers for preliminary validation.
Students on the standard curriculum track are promoted to the next grade after passing this exam. Students on the accelerated track are assessed at the end of each semester and promoted to a higher grade accordingly.
Educational Bridge for Afghanistan (EBA) issues two primary certificates:
- A certificate at the end of the general education program based on the Afghan curriculum.
- A second, international certificate after the student enters and completes the international standard system.
This final certificate will be internationally recognized after it is confirmed and processed by TLM and the relevant fees (as listed on the TLM website) are paid.
The core subjects are Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and Computer Science.
All textbooks will be provided to students in PDF format.
Education Bridge for Afghanistan is a charitable educational institution that, in collaboration with the TLM examination board in the UK, organizes an international-standard assessment process for Afghan students and provides internationally recognized certificates. It also prepares guidance and educational materials for schools and students to help them prepare for the exams. For more information, visit the official EBA pages.
The certificate issued by TLM is approved by the UK government and is globally recognized. Afghan students can use this certificate to continue their studies at universities and international organizations or benefit from global job opportunities.
